Any distinctive sign described in the Industrial Property Law (LPI) may be registered with the IMPI, which include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trademarks<\/li>\n<li>Commercial Notices<\/li>\n<li>Trade Names<\/li>\n<li>Collective and Certification,<\/li>\n<li>Well-known and famous trademarks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The importance of obtaining a registration for these signs is based on the fact that it produces effects against third parties, in order to avoid the\u00a0risk\u00a0of\u00a0confusion\u00a0for the consumer and the use of a trademark to favor another.<\/p>\n<p>By registering, the status of owner will be registered.
