Agility, efficiency and speed.

In the previous article we talked about one of Isaac Asimov’s predictions about the possibility of cars driving without a human driver or operator, and it seems that the automotive sector has been reached by this prediction through automated digital transformation.

The automotive industry today generates zero-emission vehicles, develops electromobility models, and other relevant aspects to meet the 2030 agenda What does this mean?

Although the manufacture of powered cars must be at the height of sustainability and comply with environmental care measures, the use of electric cars also involves considering different factors such as the adaptation of society to technology, changes in infrastructure, economic scope, among other aspects in legal matters.

Since 2022, Puebla has been manufacturing the first electric passenger bus and one of the largest companies in the automotive technology sector, TESLA, has arrived in Nuevo León; BOSCH recently expanded its plant in Querétaro, generating more than 400 new jobs. These events place Mexico as an attractive and competitive country, whose efforts position it among the top vehicle manufacturers in Latin America, according to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA).

According to José Zozaya, Executive President of the Mexican Automotive Industry Association, “nearshoring opens up the possibility of reducing production times and costs, which is why in a recovery stage as important as the one we are currently in, it is a priority on the agenda of North America as a region. In addition, taking advantage of the potential that the T-MEC gives us, it privileges us as a region to position ourselves as a regional bloc in global manufacturing trade, in order to alleviate disruptions in supply chains as soon as possible.”

The automotive industry serves as one of the main pillars of Mexico’s economy. Agility, efficiency and speed have become its virtues, as well as its greatest challenges, given the advent of the internet of things.

As we said in some of our articles, the synergy between governments and the private sector will make the difference in the economic development of the country and the path of the automotive sector is a destiny of endless and futuristic transformation.
