In 13 minutes from Querétaro to Mexico City

The construction of the Hyperloop in Mexico will start this year and will connect Mexico City and Guadalajara, the second largest city of the country.

 

Backround information

The project of the worldly Hyperloops comes from the entrepreneur and investor Elon Musk. In a global selection, ten regions were selected where a high-speed transport system will be built. For Mexico the Hyperloop is called Mexloop.

The route

The Mexloop will start in the capital Mexico City and reach Querétaro after twelve minutes. After another twelve minutes, it will reach the 1.6 million inhabitants city of León, which is located in the state of Guanajuato. From there, the final destination Guadalajara is reached in 13 minutes.

The advantages

The travel time between Mexico City and the capital of the state of Jalisco can be shortened tremendously by the Mexloop. From at least a seven hours ride – depending on the traffic – the transportation time will be reduced to only 38 minutes. This will be a substantial reduction for the 45 million inhabitants of the economic region. Especially with an expected population growth of more than 60 million people over the next 30 years.
