Minimum wages Mexico
On 26 of December 2018, the Commission’s decision on the minimum wage, which sets general and professional minimum wages from 1 January 2019, was published in the Official Journal of the Federation.
The decision stipulated that the country will be divided into two geographical zones for the application of minimum wages:
  1. Free zone of the northern border: Integrated BY 43 communities belonging to the states of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila de Zaragoza, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. The minimum wage applicable in this area is 176.72 pesos per working day.
  2. General minimum wage range: The minimum wage for other municipalities and town halls (in the case of Mexico City) is 102.68 pesos per working day.
